Little Marianthi has been struggling ever since she came into this world, since she was born with a rare syndrome that causes epileptic encephalopathy and severe psychokinetic delay. Today, Marianhti is four years old. She is unable to speak or walk, while she receives anti-epileptic medication. Furthermore, she is regularly subjected to physiotherapy, which aims to strengthen her muscle groups and to prevent the inevitable stiffness of the joints. She is fed via a nasogastric tube and she breathes with the help of a ventilator which is connected to her tracheostomy.

About one and a half year ago, the little girl’s family contacted the Organization and thanks to your defining support, we managed to procure the specialised reclining bed Marianthi needed, while we also cover the cost of the treatments, the expendable supplies and the medical equipment that are essential for this little fighter’s medical care.

Ever since the girl returned from the hospital and started to receive home-based care, our multidisciplinary staff has been by this family’s side, while being updated on her progress.

Little Marianthi’s monthly health-related expenses are exorbitant. However, it’s imperative that she proceeds with her physiotherapy sessions, which will help stabilise her respiratory functions. Her family needs our help one more time, since they are unable to cope with their daughter’s ever-increasing, health-related expenses.

Little Marianthi has been facing an uphill struggle ever since she came into this world. All of these years, her parents are doing everything in their power in order to provide their little angel with the best medical care possible. Together, we can improve the quality of life of a small child who needs our help!
